Tayo for Education works on a variety of project together with different partners and community groups in educational and development related programs.
Our mission is not only to look at issues concerning access to education, but also to ensure that every child has access to an education that is meaningful. We try and ensure that the basic requirements and needs of education and learning are met.
As our rapport builds with our partners and communities, we provide support to make the community impact more tangible by supporting education and touching on areas of need such as women’s issues, community awareness related issues and more. With these thoughts in mind, we have invested our energies in supporting different types of educational projects. Our support in each of these areas not only helps the individual efforts but also guides our work in terms of how we invest our energies as an organization.
It helps us realize the problems faced by learners, parents and teachers and the important role played by each type of activity.
Outlined below are some of the projects that Tayo for education have managed to initiate to support learning in our schools.
1. SCIENCE LABORATORY AT YAQSHID EDUCATIONAL COMPOUND
Tayo for Education has built and equipped a science laboratory for secondary school students at Yaqshid Education Compound in Mogadishu with the support of its partners.
Somalia is a country where a small percentage of youthful population is in school and there is over 50% illiteracy rate among young men and women.
Most schools are not able to perform well in science related lessons because they lack laboratories to do practical and to bridge this gap, Tayo for education equipped with modern equipment the laboratory that will be used for Physics, Chemistry and Biology practical lessons.
The science laboratory is attracting more students who are interested in practice learning and contributing to success in scientific subjects.
2. COMPUTER LABORATORY AT AL-BIRRI PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL
Tayo for Education has built a computer laboratory to vulnerable students at Albiiri Primay and Secondary School and provided computers to more than 700 students who are majorly orphans & unprivileged children, where we provide education them but most of our schools are still lacking computer laboratories where children can acquire modern technology, formal education and online studies to improve on the quality of education.
The computer laboratory project in Albiiri will provide access to information to the students and educate more unprivileged children and help them to acquire modern technology. This project when boosted with more computers and digital equipment will help our organization to achieve its goal of providing education to unprivileged children and equip our organizational schools with computer laboratories for now and for the future use. This will provide quality education to the current and future students.
3. COMPUTER LABORATORY AT AL-FAJR MODEL SCHOOL (ELASHA)
Tayo for Education has built a computer laboratory to vulnerable students at Alfajir (Celasha)Primay and Secondary School and provided computers to more than 300 students who are majorly orphans & unprivileged children, where we provide education them but most of our schools are still lacking computer laboratories where children can acquire modern technology, formal education and online studies to improve on the quality of education.
The computer laboratory project in Alfajir will provide access to information to the students and educate more unprivileged children and help them to acquire modern technology. This project when boosted with more computers and digital equipment will help our organization to achieve its goal of providing education to unprivileged children and equip our organizational schools with computer laboratories for now and for the future use. This will provide quality education to the current and future students.
